Our project “Olive Oil Museum” has been carried out through the restoration of a traditional oil mill dating from 1914. During the tour, visitors will see a traditional fully restored oil mill followed by a more modern area in which they will learn about the olive oil culture as well as enjoy guided oil tastings.
Its location allows visitors to have a complete view of the olive groves in Jaén. It is placed in the “Route of the Caliphate” between Alcalá la Real and Priego de Córdoba. The proximity to both municipalities, an easy access and its strategic location makes it an obligatory stop. Visitors can complement this tour with a visit to The Fortress of La Mota, the Abbey Palace or any other of the multiple tourism alternatives in Alcalá la Real.
The ultimate aim of this project is the promotion of our region, Andalusia, and its deepest roots. Roots which, the same as the olive groves’ roots, shape our society, customs and traditions.
Promoting olive oil means promoting our culture, considering. Spreading as much information as possible about it is not a whim but almost an obligation.
